Greetings to all in the name our Lord Jesus Christ!
“And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Christ”
– Luke: 2:26
Life is a very design of god; Life is the mind of God. Humans came into being through the breath of God. Life is precious in the sight of God. As a celebrating community it is our bounden duty to thank God for the very gift of life. Jesus Christ the giver of life is being presented at the temple in the hands of Simeon who praises God and adores God for the birth of Jesus the LIFE PERSONIFIED. He affirms with the faith statement saying “He has seen God’s salvation” (Life) and also he emphatically says “Jesus is the light for revelation to the Gentiles, and for the glory to the people of Israel”. This statement by Simeon is basically founded on God given life. He thanks God for this gift of life through which the gentiles and the people sitting in darkness will experience life in all its fullness. Jesus the source of life by which the life denied and people who are denied right to live will breathe a New Life of liberation. No more darkness; no more threat; no more manipulation and no more subjugation; because the Life Giving God and the Liberating God had pitched his tent in the midst of these voiceless victims.
The Church has been bestowed upon with this great gift of life through the advent of Jesus Christ. As Simeon experience witnessing the salvation, the Church also should be empowered with this salvific experience through the gift of life- Jesus Christ. Let us thank God for Jesus Christ the gift of life through Him we experience life.
God bless you all.
